The Croatian Crystallographic Association and OlexSys will soon present the second edition of the interactive workshop “OLEX2_A2Z – from fundamentals to mastery”, which will be held from 5 to 9 April 2027 in Dubrovnik, at the Academia residence. The workshop website will be available online from 5 October 2026, and participant registration will open on 5 November 2026. The workshop will follow the model established by the successful pilot edition held from 27 to 30 April 2026. Prof. Horst Puschmann, one of the creators of Olex2, will guide participants through the software’s capabilities — from installation and initial configuration to solving cases of severe structural disorder, advanced treatment of hydrogen atoms, and aspherical and anharmonic refinement. Participants will have the opportunity to submit their interesting or “unsolvable” structures in advance, so that possible approaches to problem‑solving can be demonstrated during the workshop itself.
