On Friday, September 27, 2024, Dr. Biserka Kojić-Prodić, Distinguished Scientist of the RBI and founder of the Croatian Association of Crystallographers, left us. Biserka was one of the greatest Croatian scientists of all time. Hundreds of scientific papers, dozens of international projects, numerous scientific offspring, and the most important national and international awards will forever testify to this. Biserka was engaged until her last day, working, reading, and learning without a break. She tirelessly cared for her Laboratory for Chemical and Biological Crystallography, her former doctoral students, and the Croatian Association of Crystallographers’ projects. She was relentlessly and completely dedicated to all her loves – family, crystallography, and justice. She was a measured, polite, smart, fair, caring, and warm person. She was unbreakable when defending her principles. We will remember her like this, as in this picture, with a warm look and a hidden smile.
