28/11/2017 | Alen Bjelopetrović The third edition of the Hot Topics in Contemporary Crystallography – HTCC3 was held in Bol on the island of Brač (Croatia), from Sep. 23rd to 27th, 2018. The workshop was extremely well attended, as we had 31 students out of which 15 grantees to whom we distributed bursaries in a total amount of EUR 2.560,00 EUR. Golden partner of the HTCC3 was Bruker and its local representative in Croatia – Aparatura d.o.o.. The workshop was also generously supported by IUCr, DECTRIS, Ministry of science and education of the Republic of Croatia and PLIVA d.o.o.. This year hot topics were: Crystallography under extreme conditions (by. prof. dr. Elena Boldyreva, Institute of Solid State Chemistry and Mechanochemistry SB RAS, Russia, and prof. dr. Michael Probert, University of Newcastle, United Kingdom), Total scattering (by. prof. dr. Simon Billinge, and dr. Emil Božin from Brookhaven National Laboratory, Columbia University, USA, and dr. Matthew Tucker,Oak Ridge National Laboratory, USA) and Dynamical crystallography (dr. Christian Bressler, European XFEL Unit, Hamburg, Germany, and dr. Michael Först, Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter, CFEL, Germany). « ‹ of 2 › »
