The OLEX2 A2Z workshop welcomes users of all experience levels — from curious beginners to seasoned crystallographers. Over three intensive and hands-on days, we’ll explore the full spectrum of OLEX2’s capabilities, starting from the essentials and advancing toward expert-level techniques.
We begin by guiding you through the installation process and integrating compatible crystallographic software into the OLEX2 interface. You’ll learn how to configure your system to unlock the full potential of OLEX2 — no hidden features left behind.
Once your setup is complete, we’ll dive into a comprehensive walkthrough of the interface: tab by tab, function by function, revealing the program’s underlying logic and design philosophy. Only when your environment is ready and the interface feels intuitive will we begin the real journey.
First through popular topics, and through carefully selected examples — starting simple and building in complexity — we’ll demonstrate how OLEX2 empowers you to solve structures, tackle challenging refinements, and master the most commonly used commands. And because real science rarely fits into neat boxes, a dedicated portion of the workshop will focus on the difficult cases you bring with you.
